When you build a character, a grandmother, a new baby, the family dog, that character is yours. You can reuse them in as many books as you like. And you can share them.
Share a grandmother with your sister, and she can place that same grandmother into a book for her own children. Cousins’ books can hold the very same beloved person. A character can belong to a whole family, not just one book.
Sharing stays gentle. The person you share with sees the character’s name and that it came from you. Your private notes stay yours. And if they’d rather not keep it, they can quietly set it aside.
